Duncan has been assisting with a community-led contra-plan that reflects the aspirations of local residents as an alternative strategy to a developer scheme submitted for Planning. The contra-plan was devised to influence the development and to allow the community's needs to be reflected in a modified design. On 11 August 2010 the Planning Application they had objected to was refused in principle - the contra-plan had been a successful focus of the residents' aspirations for a development that they could support. Now discussions between the developer and the residents have been initiated in order to generate a design that the community can support.
